Joy, the world’s largest ice cream cone company, has sold classic cones and developed new ice cream-related products to meet the market’s changing needs for over 100 years. To help launch two new products, the enJOY-a-Bowl, and Chocolate Waffle Cone, Joy selected Elisco to create the new packaging.

Elisco retained some heritage elements, like the ice cream shop awning imagery, for brand continuity. The most significant update to the packaging was changing the iconic Joy and Joey characters from full-body illustrations to badges. Additional elements Elisco provided included point-of-purchase displays, in-store signage, and a website refresh. The new packaging resulted in increased sales with one of Joy’s most important retail partners, Walmart.

The 101-year-old brand, Joy Cone, entrusted Elisco to update their iconic Joy and Joey characters from full-body illustrations to badges.
